The Dekesters jumped all over the Intimidators in week 18, 68-32, not only taking the game but also the STOLIFS League Championship. Congratulations to those Vegas boys with his second Championship in 2020 (he won the Senior Circuit).
The two leaders had identical records of 11-7 with the Dekesters triumphing in both of their contests during the season. The Intimidators had led the League since week one but injuries and players sitting out the final game they could not hold off those Dekesters. The Intimidators do have the consolation prize of second place, but no trophy.
Radioactive won their final game on a receiving PAT in the last seconds of the Raider/Denver game to win 57-56. That win put them at 10-8 and tied for third place! They also ended the season with the second most points scored. LMS Lions also won their final game in week 18 tying Radioactive at 10-8. To break a tie we go first to the head to head season games which they split. The next tie breaker is point differential between those two games. LMS Lions won their first contest 50-37, Radioactive won the second 55-48. Thus, the LMS Lions take third place money and Radioactive end up fourth and the last pay slot.
There was a 9-9 tie for Fifth Place, no money just bragging rights between the Gophers and Smith Sons. The Sons lost their first encounter to the Gophers 27-17, then took revenge in their second meeting 80-32. Smith Sons are fifth, Gophers sixth.
7th Place was another tie between Mac & Jack and Blue Ponies. They also split, the Ponies winning by 7 in week one and the Mac & jack FC taking game two by a single point. Blues win tie breaker the higher spot. M & J falls to eighth.
There was even a tie for the toilet bowl between Bo Knows (or doesn’t) and the Brokers (who almost went broke with all their FA changes). On the strength of two wins in the regular season Bo Knows stayed out of the cellar and the Brokers got the Booby prize. This is the first season I can remember where there were five different season record ties. Figures it would be in 2020.
The STOLIFS League Scoring Title goes to the Smith Sons with 877 points in a feast or fathom year ending up at 9-9. Mac & Jack have the dubious distinction of having the most points scored against and ended the season under .500.
Due to restrictions by Uncle Jay over COVID we ARE NOT doing our annual banquet. If you would like a Zoom Meeting, we could do that.
It was fun to be able to play, but strange with all the schedule changes, players in and out of the line up as well as only able to watch most games on TV. Things should be better in 2021.
